The Elan Valley Visitor Centre, part of the Elan Estate run by Welsh Water, is the starting point for anyone wishing to visit the Elan Valley. The Valley is populated with an abundance of wildlife and natural beauty, making it a popular destination for families and other visitors.
The Visitor Centre had previously used track and spot lighting, with spotlights illuminating the boards around the centre, explaining various aspects of the Elan Estate. This angled lighting was not aesthetically pleasing for the Visitor Centre, as the lack of uniformity had made the room dark and uninviting.
Tamlite were commissioned to supply a new lighting system at the visitor centre. Sticking with a linear trunking system, The I LINE linear system was installed. The modular shape of the lights, in comparison to the spotlights used previously, gives a much more even light distribution.
The I LINE modules gave a wide beam angle, which illuminated the room more evenly than the narrow beam spotlights. The even light distribution makes the whole room appear brighter, no matter the weather outside.
The Visitor Centre and meeting room have been made significantly more visually appealing since the lighting refit. Elan Valley were extremely pleased with the outcome, as the room is now a much more attractive space for visitors.
